ssheldon1 The sun came up strong today and thawed out a nice spot to fish a jerk bait. This pickerel is 27" with serious girth. I've caught them in the 20-25" range and could easily grab them behind the head with my hand wrapped around them. As you can see from the picture, I couldn't get a decent grip on this guy hence the dirt and pine needles all over. He choked the shadow rap and got pinned with all 3 trebles. It took some finesse to get the bait out with out hurting the fish or myself. I had to snap a quick pic and get him back in. He darted off as soon as he hit the water.
ssheldon1 At first I thought that I finally popped my 2016 bass cherry with a monster. He was peeling drag on my spinning reel which I always keep tight. The real battle happened trying to get the 3 trebles out without pliers.
