Went to Danielson Pond yesterday evening for some quick shore fishing. Was on the concrete slab on the side (not the main fishing area), casting out deep and then over the pads on retrieve. Within five minutes, I got a big bite on a weightless senko (Chartreuse and Black), and had a nice little fight. The pads got tricky. Thank God I had 40lb braid on my line.
Pulled out a beast. Didn't have my scale, but it was pretty hefty. In the photo, note that my arm is fully extended, and I have my iphone pulled as far away as I can. It sucks when there is no one else to take the pic for you.

Wanted to fish in the rain this morning, so I headed to the Hale Reservation. I've had good luck at Starrow Pond lately, and I figured the rain and cooler water would bring the bass more shallow. It did. I was there maybe an hour, caught two keepers, a dinker, and had a few other bites I didn't hook up. YAMAMOTO SENKOS - black with red flakes. I stress the brand. It's worth the extra cash.

I was tired of my usual spots and saw this small pond on my iPhone map, and I headed to it. I'm pretty sure it's private for the neighborhood, but I didn't seem to bother anyone.
I walked down a wooded hill and found a perfect bass spot. It was a small, shaded cove with several groups of lily pads and a couple logs in the water.
I was using a Yamamoto Senko (green pumpkng with purple and copper flakes) Tex-Posed and weightless. Second pitch into the lily pads I landed a tiny bass (maybe 6 or 7 inches). I started pitching more toward the log and BOOM! The Senko went flying into the air and my line went down hard. After a decent fight, I pulled the biggest bass I've ever caught!
19 inches, and I was sure he was at least 4 lbs. When I weighed him, he was just over 2 lbs. I was kinda disappointed, but he was huge. Still an awesome bass.
One thing that SUCKED BAD was when I has removing the hook, I accidentally stepped on my Shimano reel and broke it in half. I hope the warranty will cover it.
