Laurel Acres Pond
I fished this pond recently on the most recent full moon including the 3 days before and 3 days after as I've heard good reports. I fished different times early morning, morning, afternoon, evening and night as the gate was left unlocked one night (after fishing for a couple hours a cop showed up to lock the gate and my car got locked in). The biggest issue with this spot is it is only 3 acres and has a rock bottom with no structure to speak of. I noticed a distinct absence of any baitfish action which explains the lack of action from any game fish. I hooked s couple cats and small large mouth. Visibility is nonexistent and oxygen levels appear low. It is also very shallow therefore most baitfish don't survive the winter and in warmer months have nowhere to hide. It's unfortunate because this pond used to have great action. Now, the park is very chaotic and the pond is heavily pressured. Next trip, I'll seek a more fertile lake as there are many in the area.
