I have an 11' 4wt euro rod, I also have a 10' 4wt radian and I hate carrying both. I'm looking for some tips on easily switching my leader between tight line and indicator fishing. Often times in winter I'll fish a deep slow bucket section along the edge tight line first and then I work my way out to deeper water with an indicator.
This is how I typically set up:
Fly line > 6' 0x > micro swivel > 3' sighter > tippet ring - 4'-6' 5x to flies
If I just take off the sighter and re attach my 5x to the micro swivel it works but I feel like there is an easier way to switch back and forth I already sometimes forgo split shot and use the tungsten bead flies for weight so I just add an indicator. Are there any tips for this scenario?
